Love Is Blind: Sweden follows a group of single adults who take part in a dating experiment designed to remove visual impressions from the earliest stage of a relationship. The Swedish reality series investigates whether two people can develop a strong emotional bond before meeting face to face.
In the first part of the experiment, participants communicate through enclosed rooms known as pods. These rooms allow conversations but block any visual contact between the two people inside. Each contestant speaks with multiple potential partners over several days, gradually discovering which conversations lead to deeper emotional connections.
As these connections grow stronger, some participants choose to commit to one another. Engagements may occur during the pod phase, meaning that a marriage proposal can take place before the partners have ever seen each other. The couple meets in person for the first time only after the proposal has been accepted.
Following this initial meeting, the experiment moves into a stage where the couples spend time together outside the pod environment. They begin interacting in person and experience their relationship in situations that more closely resemble everyday dating.
Later in the process, the couples return to their normal lives. They share living space, meet each other’s families and friends, and begin organizing their potential weddings. Living together and managing daily routines often reveal whether the relationship can function in the long term.
The season ends with wedding ceremonies that require each participant to make a final decision. At the altar, the partners must choose whether to marry or to end the relationship. The outcome determines whether a connection formed without visual attraction can continue once the experiment reaches its conclusion.
