Love Is Blind: Sweden is structured as a televised social experiment in which singles attempt to form serious relationships without relying on physical attraction at the beginning. At the start of the experiment, the participants enter a controlled dating environment consisting of separated rooms known as pods. If two participants feel that their relationship has become strong enough, they may decide to commit to each other through an engagement. This decision is made while they are still communicating through the wall in the pods. Only after a proposal is accepted do the partners finally meet face to face.
After this first meeting, the couples begin spending time together outside the pod environment. The experiment then shifts toward observing how their relationship develops when they interact in person and share everyday experiences.
The next phase takes place in the participants’ regular surroundings. The engaged couples live together, introduce each other to family members and friends, and start making preparations for possible weddings. Daily routines, personal differences and long-term expectations often reveal whether the relationships are stable.
The series concludes with wedding ceremonies where each couple must make a final decision. At the altar, the participants individually choose whether to proceed with the marriage or end the relationship. The outcome shows whether a connection formed without visual influence can endure once the partners face the realities of life outside the experiment.
