Love Is Blind: Sweden is a Swedish reality television program in which single adults attempt to find a life partner through an unusual social experiment. At the start of the season, the participants take part in a structured dating process inside separated rooms known as pods. Each man and woman can speak with potential partners through a wall that prevents them from seeing each other. When two people feel that their bond has become strong enough, one of them may choose to propose marriage during the pod phase. Engagements therefore occur before the partners have ever met face to face. The first in-person meeting only happens after the proposal has been accepted.
Following this reveal, the newly engaged couples leave the isolated dating environment and spend time together in a shared retreat. This period allows them to experience their relationship in a more natural setting and to discover whether the emotional connection built through conversation translates into real-world chemistry.
