The proposal takes place while they are still separated in the pods, meaning the commitment is made before they have ever met face to face. The partners are only allowed to see each other after the engagement has been accepted.
Following this first meeting, the couples continue their relationship outside the pod environment. They spend time together and begin adjusting to their partner’s presence in everyday interactions.
